Description
A Water Filtration & Purification Plant is a complete water treatment system designed to remove impurities, contaminants, and harmful substances from raw water to make it safe and suitable for drinking, industrial processes, and commercial use. These plants are widely used in industries, residential complexes, hospitals, schools, hotels, and municipal water supply systems to ensure a consistent supply of clean and hygienic water.
The working process of a Water Filtration & Purification Plant involves multiple stages of treatment. In the initial stage, raw water is passed through a pressure sand filter, which removes suspended particles such as dust, dirt, and silt. Next, the water passes through an activated carbon filter that eliminates chlorine, organic compounds, color, odor, and unpleasant taste. Depending on the application, a water softener may also be used to remove hardness-causing minerals like calcium and magnesium.
After primary filtration, advanced purification technologies are applied, such as Reverse Osmosis (RO), Ultrafiltration (UF), Nanofiltration (NF), or UV sterilization. In RO systems, water is forced through semi-permeable membranes under high pressure, removing dissolved salts, heavy metals, bacteria, viruses, and other microscopic contaminants. UV and ozone systems are often used for final disinfection to ensure complete microbial safety.
